"Come on, Robin; to the Batcave! There's not a moment to lose!"
Welcome to my shrine for the Dark Knight and his clan
We have only one rule: We never kill, only seriously injure.
This shrine is not for incel machos who think Batman's all that. Batman is a deeply troubled and inspiring character who epitomizes the greatest struggle of humanity: persistence and morality.
Nearly all my knowledge about the Batfamily comes from brilliant fanfics and the amazing web toon The Wayne Family Adventures.
Explore my favorite Batman comics, series, fanfics and movies.
What makes Batman so great?
He has a tough exterior and a mean look on his face, because that's who he had to be. Protecting Gotham, a.k.a the mission supercedes everything because that's not just his parent's legacy, but also the soft desperation of trying to save children from losing their parents the way he did.
You can see that in the way he interacts with children. Making soft promises to protect them, adopting a kid who was stealing the tires of the Batmobile (Jason, my shayla!), his conversations with Cassandra Cain. You'll find everything in his belt, from kryptonite to shark repellent spray. But also... a candy or two for tiny hands.
He's not perfect.
He's so methodical that he made contingency plans for everyone on the League. So analytical that he forgets to look after the children he takes under his wing. He's not a good parent, even though he loves his children desperately.
An Introduction to the Batfamily (Chronology-wise)
- Alfred Pennyworth: The OG, the legend. The man who sucker punched Superman once. I think he really is the most deadly man in the Batfamily. People die over his cookies.
- Dick Grayson: The first robin and Nightwing.
- Jason Todd: Second robin and an amazing Red Hood.
- Tim Drake: Third Robin, now Red Robin. Figured out Batman's secret identity and basically blackmailed him into adopting him. Runs on coffee and has a cute boyfriend!
- Damian Wayne: Demon spawn, jk. B's only biological son (a fact that he constantly brags about). Raised by Talia Al Ghul for the first 8? or 9? years of his life. Was unsufferable to first, but he became an animal lover which endeared him to me immediately.
- Barbara Gordon: Batgirl and Oracle. She's honestly so cool and kinda hot.
- Cassandra Cain: Black Bat. My baby girl, she deserves all the best things in her life. Bruce, you better show up at all her ballet recitals or I'm coming after you.
- Stephanie Brown: Robin and now Spoiler. Her chaos levels are off the charts, never change Steph!
- Duke Thomas: Signal. The only vigilante from batfam to work in daylight. He has really cool powers and he's a really really sweet guy. Must be protected at all costs.
- Kate Kane: Batwoman. She's a lesbian badass who I may or may not have had dreams about. Everything was teen and above dw, she was just rescuing poor little me.
